An amazing training opportunity for Leaders

Do you already have a Wood Badge? Would you like the opportunity to visit Gilwell Park, UK and Brownsea Island? Watch this space and be prepared!

As part of the 2019 Centenary of the Wood Badge celebrations a group of leaders will travel to England to attend their f2f advanced training course where Leader training began, Gilwell Park.

In August/September next year Scouts Victoria is offering an opportunity for leaders requiring to complete advanced training to attend an all-section Advanced Practical course in England. Stay and train at Gilwell Park, the home of leader training and where Baden-Powell often camped.   Included will be a day trip to Brownsea Island, the site of Lord Baden-Powell's experimental camp, where scouting skills learnt in the army during the Boer War set the foundation of Scouting.  An additional post-course tour is offered to visit Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland.  This centre began in 1923 when BP had a dream about a place where all Scouts from all over the world could meet:  a permanent mini Jamboree.

Further information can be found at Wood Badge at Gilwell UK. Expressions of Interest or enquiries regarding this course can be directed to jan.kerr@scoutsvictoria.com.au.
