Check out how Melbourne placed on the Leaderboard here!

The City Nature Challenge is an annual global Bioblitz, where cities around the world compete to record the most iNaturalist observations of flora, fauna and fungi! It's running from April 29 to May 2 and we need your help to get Melbourne on the leaderboard!

You can get involved by joining an event run by your local council, or running your own Bioblitz event. Scouts can propose their participation and learning as a goal for a Special Interest Area project as well, so they can earn a badge along the way! Some examples of goals could be to record one hundred different species over the weekend or learn about all the different types of Gum Trees in your local park.

Download the iNaturalist app on the Apple Store or Google Play and learn more about nature in our beautiful parks and gardens with the City Nature Challenge.
