Independent Travellers

Travelling on the Cuboree coaches is part of the experience for Cub Scouts. The Pack who travels together stays together.
As there will be over 100 coaches coming in and out of Gilwell Park on both Monday, October 2nd and Friday October 6th, independent travelling Cubs will not be permitted on-site until after the last coach has arrived on the Monday, and must have left before the first coach departs on the Friday.

To Cuboree:

DROP OFF TO GEMBROOK RECREATION RESERVE - BY 4:30PM on October 2nd

All Cub Scouts travelling independently to Cuboree must be at the Drop Off Point by 4:30pm on Monday October 2nd. 
Independent travelling Cub Scouts are to be taken to:

Gembrook Recreation Reserve
Orchard Road
Gembrook

DO NOT GO TO GILWELL PARK, YOU AND YOUR CUB SCOUT WILL BE TURNED AWAY!

After your Cub Scout is signed in, a coach provided by Cuboree and staffed with members of the Cuboree Welfare and Admin teams will transport all independent travelling Cub Scouts to Cuboree Admin at Gilwell Park. 
It will be the responsibility for each Cuboree Pack Akela to ensure Cub Scouts and their luggage are collected from Cuboree Admin, upon arrival.


IMPORTANT: ALL CUB SCOUTS TRAVELLING INDEPENDENTLY TO CUBOREE MUST BE AT GEMBROOK RECREATION RESERVE BY 4:30PM. 

If your Cub Scout is not at Gembrook Recreation reserve by 4:30PM on Monday October 2nd the coach may depart for Gilwell Park without your Cub Scout. If your Cub Scout is not on the bus, they will be unable to attend Cuboree.

DO NOT GO TO GILWELL PARK, YOU AND YOUR CUB SCOUT WILL BE TURNED AWAY!

Gilwell Park is closed to anyone other than Cuboree 2017 participants. Further, parents/guardians and other designated persons and private vehicles are not allowed onto Gilwell Park.

From Cuboree:

The parent/guardian of all Cub Scouts who are travelling independently from Cuboree 2017 must complete and submit a copy of the Cub Scout Release Form.

Parents / Guardians: The completed Release Form must be received by Cuboree before 12th September 2017

Youth Member: Cuboree Check out procedure;

PICK UP FROM GEMBROOK RECREATION RESERVE AT 8:30AM on October 6th

All Cub Scouts travelling independently from Cuboree must check in with Cuboree Admin at 7:45am.
This includes Youth travelling independently with Leaders.


It will be the responsibility of the Pack Akela to bring all Cub Scouts travelling independently and their luggage* to Cuboree Admin at 7:45am

  • Cub Scouts travelling independently with Adult Cuboree Participants will be released into the care of the Adult.
  • Cub Scouts being picked up, and members of the Cuboree Admin and Welfare teams will board a bus, and travel to the Pickup Location, at Gembrook Recreation Reserve.
    *Exception: Luggage of independent youth travelling with leaders can be left with those leaders if appropriate
  • Cuboree Admin will sign out Youth Members only to the persons nominated to collect them.


PLEASE NOTE: ALL CUB SCOUTS MUST BE COLLECTED FROM GEMBROOK RECREATION RESERVE AT 8:30AM

ALL CUB SCOUTS TRAVELLING WITH A LEADER MUST BE OFFSITE BY 3:00PM ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 6TH.

Nominated Adult: Collecting Youth

The persons nominated on the Release Form to collect Independent Youth Members (including adults attending Cuboree)

  • Must bring the copy of the Release Form with them
  • Must present the release form together with their Drivers Licence or other photo ID
  • Independent travellers are to be collected from:

Gembrook Recreation Reserve
Orchard Road
Gembrook

  • Please arrive to collect your child at 8:30am SHARP
  • Youth Members will not be released from Cuboree 2017 without the correct documentation.
  • As there are no facilities to accommodate Youth members after the Cuboree closes, Cub Scouts who have not had their nominated adult present by 8:45am may be returned to their coach drop off point with their Pack.

Scouts & Venturers Travelling Independently:

To Cuboree:

Independent Travelling Venturers will need to have checked into Cuboree Admin at Gilwell Park by 7:45am on Monday, October 2nd. Venturers are permitted on-site prior to Monday October 2nd by prior agreement with their department manager.

From Cuboree:

The parent/guardian of all Scouts and Venturer Scouts (Youth Members) who are travelling independently from Cuboree 2017 (i.e. not travelling on the provided coaches) must complete and submit a copy of the Venturer Release Form.

Parents/Guardians: The completed Release Form must be received before 12th September 2017

  • As there are no facilities to accommodate Youth members after the Cuboree closes, Scouts and Venturers will be returned home via Taxi, at their Parent/Guardian’s expense.


Please note: Gilwell Park is closed to anyone other than Cuboree 2017 participants. Further, parents/guardians and other designated persons and private vehicles are not allowed onto Gilwell Park. Because of this, the designated person/s must proceed directly to the Gilwell Environment Centre, using carpark gate number 2 within the times mentioned above.

Rovers, Leaders and Other Adults Travelling Independtly:

If you are bringing your car, you need to complete an application for a Car Park.  No cars will be permitted on-site without a parking pass.
