The zero contact Monster Raffle

Times are tough, but soon we’ll be back to real Scouting and we will need funds.

This document offers some tips on how your Group can continue to sell tickets in annual Monster Raffle.

Over the past 16 years, Groups have raised more than $7 million from the Raffle. Make sure you get your share.

  • Funds - 100% of your sales go to your Group
  • High visibility – youth and adult members in local community
  • Fun – Parents working with the Group to raise funds, within their community

Campaign – Key Stages


  • Order Books on Extranet
  • Determine what the funds will be spent on e.g. fees, equipment, major events
  • Promotion – email parents to let them know how they can help and encourage support on Group’s Facebook page
  • Pre-book selling sites – your local Richies store during Scout Month (May) and local Shopping Centres
  • Recruit a Parent to help with distribution and collection of tickets

Ticket Distribution

  • On receiving tickets, accept the raffle tickets as being received on Extranet
  • If families will  be selling tickets, distribute tickets amongst members and complete a ticket distribution list

Ticket and Funds Return

  • Email Parents three weeks before tickets are to be returned
  • Notice on Group’s Facebook page for tickets to be returned two weeks before
  • Collate all sold ticket butts and unsold tickets
  • Complete return list on Extranet
  • Return all sold ticket butts and unsold tickets to Scouts Victoria
  • Deposit corresponding funds directly to Scouts Victoria bank account

Fund reimbursement

  • End June – for all returned un/sold tickets and funds received by May 29
  • Second refund round TBA
