Service Leaders
As a Service Leader you are an essential part of a Jamboree, assigned to roles that make a Jamboree a Scouts most awesome experience. You could be assisting the Program Team operating the dozens of activities, or maybe supporting the teams in Entertainment, Media, Transport, Administration or even a chill-out zone or other sub-camp support. Medical, First Aid and Wellbeing Teams will be looking for Leaders already skilled in these roles.
Your assignment will consider the preferences and skills you entered in your application, but you may be assigned to something completely new to you, it all depends on distributing Leader resources where needed for the Jamboree experience. Wherever you are assigned, you will be supported by skilled Leaders, including personal development opportunities for new skills and relationships.
Service Leaders bring their own tents and sleeping gear and camp with other Service Leaders, managed by their own Sub Camp Team. You will dine in catered facilities and after your assigned role ends for the day, you will be free to visit your Scouts in camp, enjoy the vibe and facilities around the Jamboree site or maybe catch a show with the Scouts in the Arena. If you like to socialise with other Leaders, there are facilities just for Leaders including the off-site, licenced Leader’s club, restricted to adults.
Victorian Contingent has appointed a Health and Wellbeing Team dedicated to Victorian Leaders and don’t forget our Victorian Leader’s Cafe where you can enjoy a bit of chill-out for yourself over a free coffee and snack.
Service Leader Role assignments are expected to be announced in late October, so look out for an invitation to the Victorian Contingent’s Orientation Day set for October 27. O-Day will be a full day of information including what you can expect at Jamboree, how you and your gear will get there, activity details and lots more.
