How Does the Vaccination Mandate Affect…?

Unvaccinated youth members?

Youth members and young adult members (ie Rovers) no longer need to be vaccinated to attend Scouting.

Joeys, Cubs and Scouts?

Youth members aged under 18 years are not required to be vaccinated to participate in indoor or outdoor Scouting.

Venturers and Rovers?

Venturers and Rovers are not required to be vaccinated to participate in indoor or outdoor Scouting unless they are acting as a Leader or Adult Helper.

Parents and Carers?

Parents and Carers do not need to be vaccinated to drop off or pick up youth members, to attend Scouting or to help out with activities.

Leaders and Adult Helpers?

Leaders or Adult Helpers must be fully vaccinated (2 doses) or an excepted person to participate in indoor or outdoor Scouting.

Leaders who provide services to persons with a disability or who undertake Scouting in a school environment may need to receive a COVID vaccine booster as part of their role.

Campsite workers?

Campsite workers must be fully vaccinated (2 doses) or an excepted person to attend a campsite participate in Scouting outside of their home.

Committee members, Australian Scout Fellowship, etc?

Committee members do not need to be vaccinated unless they are attending an activity as a helper.

How does my vaccination status affect my membership status with Scouts Victoria?

Your vaccination status has no impact on your ongoing membership status with Scouts Victoria, it only affects your ability to undertake face-to-face Scouting while the Pandemic Orders remain in force. Unvaccinated members are still able to contribute to Scouting in other ways, such as online.

How long will the vaccination restrictions on Leaders and Adult Helpers continue?

Whilst no date has been set, the Victorian Premier has indicated that the current Pandemic Orders won’t be extended beyond July 12 2022.
