A good hike for Cubs is to start at Buckley’s Nature Conservation Reserve, a small area of bushland, including rare orchids, at the corner of Balnarring and Myers Roads.
Walk north on Turners Road to pass Bittern Reservoir on its western side, cross Hodgins Road, then continue on the western side of Devil Bend reservoir.
Exit through Woods Bushland reserve to arrive at Camp Niall (about 10 kms).
For Scouts, an option is to camp overnight at Camp Niall, then return around the eastern side of Devil Bend reservoir, and the eastern side of Bittern reservoir to Buckley’s Nature Conservation Reserve (a further 12 kms).
