Discover the Victorian Gilwell Reunion

The Victorian Gilwell Reunion is for all Leaders who have achieved their Wood Badge, whether you are active, retired or no longer a member of the Scout Association. It is an opportunity to catch up with Scouting friends, whether you met during your training or around the Scouting trails.

The weekend is usually themed. Some of the recent themes have been ‘Alice in Gilwell Land’, ‘Reunion at Hogwarts’, ‘The Gilwell Irish O’Limp Ics’. Dressing up to the theme is optional, but having fun is the aim.

At the Reunion, we work as a group, but also as four Patrols/Sixes. These are based on your Wood Badge Course. If you do not remember which Patrol/Six you were in, you may join any of the four or ask us to assign you to a Patrol/Six.

One highlight of the weekend is a campfire where Patrols/Sixes contribute items, a song, a skit or both.

The weekend is fully catered, and if you go home hungry, that will not be the fault of our excellent caterer.

Sleeping accommodation is either bunk beds or bring your own tent.

During the day, your level of involvement can include some organised patrol activities or doing some ‘service’ for the Park, such as weeding some of the flower beds, tidying up the Johnson Campfire Circle, painting, or anything else that the Park Staff may suggest; or just relaxing and socialising.

If you are unable to come for the whole weekend, you are welcome to attend at a time to suit you. The AGM is held on the Sunday morning before a special Formal Lunch.

Patrol Mid-Year Reunions

Each Patrol has a mid-year reunion. In 2026, they will be held one weekend to be determined in June, July, August or October. Each Patrol decides upon which weekend they will meet for their mid-year weekend.

The Cuckoo mid-year reunion is July 17 - 19, 2025.
