National Alpine School 2026

This intensive alpine training event will provide Rover Scouts and Leaders with an opportunity to learn, develop, and demonstrate their skills in leading day cross country ski tours and snowshoe trips. • Dealing with alpine emergencies
  • Navigating in poor visibility
  • Avalanche safety
  • Snow camping techniques

The week will provide training and evidence collection for the alpine activity specific VET units. On completion of the week, participants will have evidence for assessment by SAIT for the following VET units:

  • SISOFLD003 - Select Set-up & Operate a temporary or overnight Campsite
  • SISOFLD006 - Navigate in tracked environments
  • SISOSKT001 - Ski on easy cross country terrain
  • SISOSKT003 - Use snow craft skills for alpine touring
