Scouting Protocols
Ceremonies play an essential role in a youth program and like the program itself, ceremonies are progressive from the investiture of a Joey Scout to the presentation of the Baden-Powell Scout Award to a Rover Scout, or the presentation of a Wood Badge or Award to an adult Leader.
Many of our ceremonies are unique to Scouting and incorporate elements special to Scouting including the Scout salute, Scout sign and left handshake. Because they are special to Scouting it is important that they are known to all Scouts and presented correctly.
A well-presented ceremony to the outside observer demonstrates our Scouts' pride in their Movement.
The tabs will provide your youth members with an understanding of the various elements that form part of our ceremonies.
