Falls Creek
For down hill skiing and snowboarding, all areas opened on the day by the alpine resort are Within Resort Boundaries. Leaders only need Certificate of Proficiency (Including Scouting Adventure) and must be in direct supervision of youth members at all time. Approval is required only by Group Leader.
For cross country and snow shoeing the following areas and trails have been assessed as part of the resort boundary. Leaders only need Certificate of Proficiency (Including Scouting Adventure) and must be in direct supervision of youth members at all time. Approval is required only by group leader.
Trails in the resort boundary are from the Nordic Center to the Nordic Bowl.
For other areas of map leaders need Trained Participant (Cross Country Skiing Patrolled) or Trained Participant (Snow Shoe Day Tour). This includes Dam Wall to Ropers Trail Head sign, Sun Valley Loop, Pretty Valley Road to Ruined Castle and all open areas within the down hill resort.
Past Dam Wall and past Ruined Castle are outside the patrolled areas and leaders need guide level qualification to run day and overnight trips.
There is nowhere suitable for Trained Participants level to run overnight camping trips at Falls Creek.
The area mark by green shading is resort boundary.
