Bushwalking Activities
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a low impact and enjoyable way to explore the winter alpine environment. It's easy to do and a wonderful way to get out and experience the crisp alpine air and peace and quiet of the bush with only the crunch of snow under your feet.
Appropriately qualified Leaders (min Level 3 Bushwalking), can run activities above the snow line during the ski season.
Rogaining
Rogaining is a sport for 2-99 year olds who enjoy the challenge of being outdoors. Whether you want to run, walk, picnic or simply camp at one of our overnight events we would love to see you. Having been created by three Rovers, it is an ideal team activity for any Scout aged 5-99.
Although you can go to any event, every May the Victorian Rogaining Association holds the annual Scouts, Schools & Cadets Challenge. The course is prepared with youth members in mind and there are separate trophies to be won, in addition to the general public ones, if you are good enough!

Suburban Adventure Racing
Looking for information on Suburban Rogaining? Suburban Adventure Racing is a fun activity for anyone and everyone, held every Tuesday evening through October to March. This is put on especially for Scouting but many people come along including Guides, locals and of course families, friends and dogs. Many Mobs, Packs, Troops, Units and Crews make the most of this activity as an excellent weeknight activity that ticks many boxes. Visit their website for the calendar and more details. They also have a Facebook group where they will be frequently posting updates.
Geocaching
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
What is Geocaching?
Several members of the Bushwalking Team are keen geocachers and can assist with running a small event for your Group.
