FAQ's

As this is a new program introduction for Scouts Victoria, there will be a range of questions as the information rolls out to the Venturer and Rover communities.

Here are some typical questions which will be added as feedback is received.

    • This is a separate organisation to Scouts Victoria and the fee you pay covers the administration of your Online Record Book your registration and certificate.
  • Does my Scouting Assessor have to register with Duke of Ed Aus?
    • Yes, and they will need to to ensure they meet the ChildSafe requirements of both organisations. As we progress with Scouting Assessors from the Activity Teams registering Venturers and Rovers they can be used by other youth members in the future.

This gives you a vast number of ideas to choose as your goals.

    • Basically the same award sections are to be undertaken with a longer duration (12 - 18 months), plus the Residential Project - 5 days/4 nights (Gold only). The aim on this project is for you to meet and mix with other people outside your home Unit. This can be an external Leadership Camp, Jamboree, Cuboree or the LEAD program as some examples. For the Gold Award if have not completed the Silver Award, you are required to complete an additional 6 months in either Voluntary Service, Skills or Physical Recreation areas. The Gold Award can be undertaken by either a Venturer or a Rover (as a part of their Baden-Powell Award).
