Walkabout Award

Introduction

The Walkabout Award depicts the total number of humanpowered kilometers covered on outdoor Scouting activities. The requirements for the Walkabout Award can be started at whatever point in a youth member’s Scouting journey and continue to be added to throughout their journey.

The Walkabout Award is awarded at incremental points for total kilometers travelled.

It is a youth member only award.

Uniform Location

The Walkabout Award is worn on the right sleeve with the other Additional Awards. Only the highest Award achieved by the youth member should be worn at any one time.

Hints & Tips

Kilometers travelled can be easily logged on Scouts | Terrain in the logbook function to make it easy to track for each individual youth member.

The Walkabout Award may be used to recognise distance completed in an activity other than Bushwalking, usually at a rate of 50% - i.e. Cycling distance with Scouting = 20km, Walkabout distance = 10km.
