Gilwell Memorial Wall

First proposed to the Gilwell Park Committee of Management in 1995, the Memorial Wall was envisioned as a place where families could honour and remember past and present members and supporters of Scouting at Gilwell Park, the spiritual home of Scouting in Victoria.
Completed in 2025, the wall was made possible with funding from Freemason Victoria (Baden-Powell Lodge No 488) and Gilwell Heritage.
This enduring project forms part of the Gilwell Memorial Walk and provides a lasting place of reflection and remembrance for generations of Scouting families.
Each year, families are invited to a special Scouts’ Own Memorial Service at Gilwell Park to honour those whose names are inscribed on the wall. Details for the range of memorial and application types can be found below. |

Application Types
Single Memorialisation or Reservation Application
The Memorialisation Application allows families and friends to honour a loved one’s legacy with a custom plaque on the Gilwell Memorial Wall. Each plaque includes the individual’s name, date of birth and passing, plus four lines of personalised text celebrating their contributions to family, Scouting, or the wider community.
For couples wishing to have two single plaques placed side by side or one above the other, please complete two separate applications and advise us in advance to receive a discount on the second application.
Dual Memorialisation or Reservation Application
Honour two individuals side by side with a shared plaque on the Gilwell Park Memorial Wall. Each name includes their date of birth and passing, along with personalised text to recognise their lives, Scouting service, or community contributions. Ideal for couples, family members, or close Scouting partners. Size limitations apply.
Upgrade from Single to Dual Memorial
Families who have already installed a single memorial plaque may later choose to add a second name, creating a dual plaque. This option allows loved ones to be honoured together while preserving the original tribute.
The existing plaque will be replaced with a dual version, including both names, dates of birth and passing, and updated personalised text within the size limits. Additional costs apply for the replacement plaque.
