Award Scheme Days for Individuals

Award Scheme Days are not a part of our regular weekend flying day program. Pack, Troop, District or Region Award Days can requested as a Flying Day, for further information please view the Flying Days page.
Currently the days are structured around the content of the old Pioneer, Explorer and Adventurer Scout Air Activities Target Badges over periods of 1hr, 1.5hrs, and 2hrs respectively including a short flight in a Piper Warrior light aircraft. This can form part of the "Do" phase of the Plan > Do > Review cycle. Descriptions of three levels can be found using the links below:
Scouts can sign up to the activity individually and do not need to have a Scout Leader present, as SAAV leaders will be present throughout the entire day. However, Leaders are welcome to attend with their Scouts if they wish.
As with all SAAV flying days, each pilot is the holder of a current Commercial Pilots License issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and flights are conducted as a charter operation under stringent CASA guidelines, rules and legislation. Each pilot also is an adult leader and/or the holder of a Working With Children card.
