Kangaree

Every three years Joey Scouts have the opportunity to camp and play with hundreds of other new friends.

The ‘Kangaree’ is like a condensed version of the famous Jamboree for Scouts. It’s two nights away from home, and a fantastic way to introduce our youngest members to the fun of a camping trip with friends.

Our next Kangaree is in September 2025 and to prepare Units are encouraged to plan Unit Holidays under canvas. Camping is Adventurous, Fun, Challenging and Inclusive!

Peak Award Recognition Days - PARDs

These events are held twice yearly to celebrate all achievements of all Joey Scouts who have completed their Peak Award.

A mid–year PARD will be held in Regions in May 2024 and in November 2024 we will hold our traditional State-run PARD at Gilwell Park Scout Camp in Gembrook. Details of the May and November PARDs will be communicated in Be Informed.

All Peak Award recipients will be sent a special invitation to attend one of these PARD events. 

Zoo Day 2024 – Melbourne Zoo

We hold a State Zoo Day biennially to visit Melbourne Zoo for the day and plans are well under way for our 2024 visit. Full details will be communicated in Be Informed.

For those youth members unable to attend the State event, we encourage Districts and Regions to organise their own "Zoo Day" event at the same time.

There is lots of fun to be had, and a commemorative badge to earn for attendance.

Unit Musters - Activity Camp

Provided by an experienced team at Clifford Park Activity Centre.

Each camp operates to a theme and participants are encouraged to dress accordingly. The camp operates under Joey Scout Unit Holiday guidelines as defined in the Joey Scout section of the Info Book. Adults are required to attend at the ratio of one adult/Leader per five Joey Scouts.

All participants are accommodated in cabins which are carpeted, heated or fan cooled. All meals and activities are included in the cost. Information for camps and application forms via info@cliffordpark.com
