Peak Award - Baden-Powell Scout Award

The Baden-Powell Scout Award is the highest award you can earn in the Rover Section and is widely recognised in the community. It is considered the pinnacle of your Scouting at this stage and is a milestone in your Scouting life.

The Baden-Powell Scout Award requires the approval of the Unit Council, and all the award components must be completed and approved before the Rover Scout turns 26 years of age.

To be awarded the Baden-Powell Scout Award, Rover Scouts need to complete: -

Program Essentials

  • Milestone 3 (Milestone 1 and Milestone 2 are optional)

Outdoor Adventure Skills

  • Stage 5 in all three Core Areas of Bushcraft, Bushwalking and Camping 
  • Progress 14 Stages during the Section or since achieving the Venturer Scout Peak Award
  • At least six of these Stage progressions must include achievement of Stage 4 or above in any skill area (can include advancement of Core skills, if not previously achieved) 

Special Interest Areas

  • 6 Projects in a least 4 areas
  • Each Project is a minimum 18-hour duration including Plan>Do>Review>

Adventurous Journey

  • Plan> and lead an Adventurous Journey of at least 4 days / 3 nights' duration.
  • Each Rover Scout wishing to complete their Peak Award must plan and lead an
    Adventurous Journey without sharing the planning load with other Rover Scouts

Personal Development Course

  • 30 hours of Personal Development or Unit Management Course/s

Personal Reflection

  • Upon completion of the components towards the Baden Scout Peak Award, the Rover Scout then Reviews> their journey through the Section
