Cub Scouts were Out and About this last weekend

Saturday was the Bays Region Cub Scout City Trek Adventure where 400+ Cubs Scouts and Leaders ventured into the City of Melbourne for a two hour walk. Each District started in a different location with a route designed by another District with everyone finished at the Melbourne Rowing Club sheds on the banks of the Yarra. The weather was superb and for many of the Cubs this was a first time on public transport and first time in the City.

On Sunday it was Melbourne Region Cub Scouts turn and their JOTT walk was around Royal Park. There were 350+ Cub Scouts, Leaders, Joey Scouts, Scouts and family members all enjoying another brilliant day in Melbourne.

Congratulations and a big thank you to the organisers of the events. Scouting is all about offering our youth experiences and challenges which they may not have had the opportunity to do elsewhere and also getting out of the hall and into the wider community. These types of events also promote Scouting in the best way possible because we are being seen out in public and we are telling one and all that Scouting is alive and kicking!
